Apple to unveil redesigned, thinner MacBook Air with 15-inch option in mid-2016?

Apple has not changed the design of the MacBook Air since 2010.

Since the introduction of the 12-inch MacBook in March, the fate of the MacBook Air lineup has been a question on many consumers' minds - will Apple eventually phase out the MacBook Air as there has not been any major hardware change since 2010? Well, according to Economic Daily News, the MacBook Air lineup will be getting a major overhaul next year.

Apple is said to be introducing a redesigned, thinner MacBook Air at WWDC 2016 in June. In addition, Apple might be removing the 11-inch model as the 12-inch MacBook somewhat made it irrelevant to be kept in its portfolio. Other upgraded specs include new batteries and cooling modules.

The MacBook Air got updated in March with the latest Intel Broadwell processors and two new Thunderbolt ports.
