Apple is said to be planning an event set for early part of next month to showcase the new iPad 3. According to Japanese blog Macotakara, anonymous sources from within the supply chain has leaked out information about the unveiling of the new tablet next month alongside a iOS 5.1 release.
The upcoming iPad 3 is said to have thicker dimensions due to the twin light bar system used in higher-resolution displays but only slightly; the iPad 3 allegedly looks almost identical to the iPad 2. Conflicting reports have also surfaced, with claims that the new tablet will be in fact, thinner than its predecessor due to a lower-powered retina display. The iPad 3 will also allegedly be released alongside two other iPad variants as well as feature a 14,000mAh battery. All these details will be confirmed when the Cupertino company releases the iPad 3 in March (expected time frame).
