Apple is officially targeting Android users with a new “Move to iOS” app. The new app is buried under a mound of new iOS 9 features on Apple’s preview page, but it’s there. Strangely enough, Apple also omitted to mention it at its WWDC 2015 keynote, but the Cupertino company is clearly looking to take a bite out of the Android pie.

According to the page description, the app will help Android users about to jump ship move over their contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, web bookmarks, wallpapers, and even DRM-free songs and books. This isn’t even an exhaustive list of the things it’ll cover, and Apple is really working to lower the barriers that might make Android users hesitant to switch to an entirely different ecosystem.

The app will even help users rebuild their app libraries by suggesting free app downloads – like Facebook and Twitter – from the App Store. Paid apps will instead be added to users’ iTunes Wish List.

Move to iOS will presumeably be available on Google's Play Store, but it's not yet clear when exactly that will be.

But when all that’s done, the app even tells you – in a somewhat deadpan manner – that you can recycle your Android phone for free at any Apple Store. Honestly, if we were Google, we'd be flattered.
