Apple said to unveil ultra-thin 13 and 15-inch MacBooks by end of Q2
Apple's launch event yesterday included a new 4-inch iPhone and a 9.7-inch iPad Pro, but its MacBook lineup did not receive any refresh. It seems that the company is planning for a major refresh in June during WWDC 2016.
According to DigiTimes, sources from the upstream supply chain claim that Apple will start shipping ultra-thin 13 and 15-inch MacBooks at the end of the second quarter. The new MacBooks are said to have a similar design as the 12-inch MacBook and will be thinner than the current MacBook Air.
Earlier this year, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that Apple will dramatically refresh its MacBook lineup which could potentially see the MacBook Air being phased out in favor of the thinner and more portable MacBook. Economic Daily News reported in December 2015 that Apple will still keep the MacBook Air lineup and introduce a redesigned, thinner model in June.
