Apple said to unveil iPhone 6 on September 16, hit retail shelves on October 14?

As we enter into the month of August, rumors on the Apple iPhone 6 are in full swing.

According to MacRumors, its source received information from a senior Store Leader that Apple is planning a launch event for the iPhone 6 on Tuesday, September 16. In addition, the source specifically stated that October 14, which also falls on a Tuesday, would be an "immense" day for Apple.

To date, there are various reports stating different launch and availability dates for the iPhone 6. MacRumors previously reported that Apple is likely to make the announcement in the first or second week of September, and retail availability is expected to be a week and a half after the announcement.

A retailer on Amazon Japan listed stock availability of the iPhone 6 on September 30, while a leaked promotional flyer in China indicated sales to commence on September 19. Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known analyst from KGI Securities, believed the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model is on track for launch in September while the 5.5-inch model is delayed until 2015

As if things ain't confusing enough, accessory maker XtremeGuard revealed on its website that Apple would release four different iPhone 6 models in 2014; the iPhone 6 and 6C will come in two different screen sizes (4.7 and 5.5-inches) each.

At this point, we advise you to take these reports with a pinch of salt, sit tight and be patient. Apple typically sends out media invites a week before a launch event. Keep your eyes peeled to HardwareZone for more information in the coming weeks.
