Apple said to be testing more than 10 different prototypes for next-gen iPhone

Apple is said to be jumping onto the curved screen bandwagon with the next iPhone.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple is currently testing more than 10 different iPhone prototypes and there is one model with an OLED curved display. The OLED model might also be introduced as one of the several new iPhone models next year.

Samsung is expected to be the main supplier of the OLED displays as it reportedly signed a US$2.59 billion deal with the iPhone maker to manufacture 100 million units of 5.5-inch panels annually. Other display suppliers such as Applied Materials Inc are also preparing to mass produce OLED panels to meet Apple's demands.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared multiples times that next year's iPhone will come with "an-glass" enclosure and an AMOLED panel. More than a week ago, Kuo claimed that Apple could launch three iPhone models in 2017 with only one having the OLED display.
