Apple rumored to introduce a 10.5-inch iPad Pro in Q1 2017
Reports of a new 10.5-inch iPad resurfaced after DigiTimes claimed in a new report that production of the tablet will begin next month.
Based on its supply chain sources, Apple decided to introduce a 10.5-inch iPad model because the screen size is popular among users in the enterprise and education sectors. The upcoming tablet will be powered by an A10X processor, which will also be used in the refresh of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
Similar to KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's predictions, DigiTimes also states that Apple will be launching more affordable variants of the 9.7-inch iPad to compete with Android tablets. Japanese site Macotakara reported last month that Apple will be unveiling a 10.1-inch and 7.9-inch iPad Pro models next year.
