Apple to release 8GB iPhone 5S for emerging markets in December?

With the release of a pair of new iPhones this year, Apple has retired the iPhone 5C from the product lineup and positions the iPhone 5S as a good entry-level option. With a starting price of S$728 (16GB), the iPhone 5S is still considered an expensive buy for consumers in emerging markets. How can Apple reach to the budget-conscious consumers in these markets?

According to a source in the supply chain, TechOne3 claims that Apple will be launching an 8GB iPhone 5S model for emerging markets such as India and China by the end of the year. As for its price tag, Apple is said to be considering one that is slightly above the iPhone 5C (16GB).

As a recap, the iPhone 5S comes with a 4-inch display, an A7 chipset, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
