Given the popularity of the iPhone, it is little wonder that Apple has been neglecting its iPod lineup a little. In fact, the last time Apple's iPods received any form of update was in 2012.

Today, Apple has just announced a new and thoroughly refreshed iPod Touch model that will be powered by the latest A8 processor - the older model was powered by the A5 processor from from 2011. Processor aside, the iPod Touch will also get an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and will support wireless 802.11ac for a faster web browsing experience.

The 4-inch display remains unchanged and offers a display resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels, giving it a pixel density count of 326 ppi.

The iPod Touch will be available in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities with prices beginning at S$278 for the 16GB model and topping out at S$588 for the 128GB model. It will also be available in variety of colors including pink, blue, silver, space grey and, of course, gold.

Apple has also updated the iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle with more color options. The iPod Nano, available in only 16GB, will retail for S$198. The iPod Shuffle, available only in 2GB, will is priced at S$68.
