Apple might offer two OLED iPhones with updated stainless steel frames in 2018
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed in his latest investor report that Apple would have two iPhone models with OLED displays and stainless steel cases next year.
While we've seen reports on Apple switching to OLED for the entire iPhone lineup from next year, this is the first rumor on Apple making some design changes to the iPhone. Kuo claims that Apple could use more parts for the stainless steel frame to improve data transmission quality. The iPhone X uses four parts for the stainless steel band around the casing.
Kuo previously shared that the iPhones in 2018 are unlikely to have rear-facing TrueDepth Camera and they might use the iPhone X's plastic lens design. Apple is said to have plans to ditch Qualcomm's radio modems from the iPhone lineup next year.
