Apple's rival to the Amazon Echo and Google Home will arrive sooner than expected.

According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, he believes there is more than a 50% chance that Apple will unveil the product at WWDC 2017 in June although consumers are likely to purchase it in the later half of the year. Kuo also shares his predictions on the specs of the device:

  • one woofer
  • seven tweeters
  • custom ARM chipset (at least A8 or newer)
  • custom W1 Bluetooth chip
  • iOS and macOS integration with AirPlay support

As with most Apple's products, Kuo thinks that the device will be sold at a premium price due to the better entertainment experience and superior sound quality. Apple is estimated to ship as many as 12 million units in the first year of its availability and the company may expand the product lineup in the future.

Renowned tipster Sonny Dickson tweeted days ago that Apple is finalizing the designs for a product which will compete against the Amazon Echo and Google Home. The device is likely to integrate "some form of Beats technology" and runs a variant of iOS.
