Apple's new 4-inch iPhone 6C may sport a plastic design after all if the latest report turns out to be true.

According to GizmoChina, factory sources said that the iPhone 6C will have the same design as the two-year-old iPhone 5C. The physical dimensions are said to be so similar that cases for the iPhone 5C can be used for the iPhone 6C!

If you recall, mobile parts reseller Future Supplier obtained alleged rear shells of the iPhone 6C in April which looked like the iPhone 5C although they come with some design changes in the camera flash and speaker holes.

As a quick recap, the iPhone 5C has a glossy polycarbonate chassis which is available in five colors (white, pink, yellow, blue and green). The 4-inch iPhone 5C continues to be mistaken as an entry-level device although Apple CEO Tim Cook reaffirmed that it is actually a mid-tier phone.

Could the upcoming iPhone 6C replace the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in the mid-tier segment this year with the iPhone 6S and 6 Plus taking the limelight and the iPhone 5S as an affordable phone with a two-year contract? The iPhone 6C is reportedly coming in November although @evleaks believes that Apple will release the iPhone 6C, 6S and 6S Plus concurrently in September.
