Sales of the new iPhones started at 8AM today, but enthusiastic buyers queued up as early as 7.45AM the day before.
Student Melva Yip, 23 was the first in queue at M1 Shop Paragon on Thursday's morning (7.45AM). Like many buyers, Yip was eager to get his hands on the gold iPhone 5S. Joseph Lok, General Manager of M1 Shop Paragon was present to congratulate Yip on his purchase.
John Yap, 24, and his girlfriend, Doreen Chua, 24, were the first two customers in the queue at SingTel's launch event in Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre Basement 2 Hall E. They arrived at the venue last night at 8PM. Both of them bought the gold iPhone 5S to replace their iPhone 5.
StarHub's first customer, Zhang HuanPu, 24, queued up at the Plaza Singapura outlet since 5AM this morning. Like his other telcos' counterparts, he also got himself a gold iPhone 5S.
Undoubtedly the gold edition is the most sought after as it's a new color option on their premium phone line-up. According to a SingTel spokesperson, stocks of the gold iPhone 5S were snapped up within 4 minutes, and the other two colors within 90 minutes at the launch event. At point of publication, the iPhone 5S is also out of stock on Apple Online Store (Singapore).
