Apple iPad Air 3, new watch bands and WatchOS 2.2 scheduled for March event?

Days after TechCrunch reported that the second generation Apple Watch will not be launched at the March event, 9to5Mac has confirmed from its sources that this is indeed the case and Apple may slot in another product release along with some minor announcements.

With the second generation Apple Watch scheduled for launch in September, 9to5Mac claims that Apple will only be releasing new band colors and WatchOS 2.2 for the current range of Watch models. It could also announce new partnerships with luxury brands beyond Hermès.

9to5Mac also heard from a major app developer that Apple has new iPad models in the pipeline which sit between the iPad Air 2 and iPad Pro. Since Apple did not update the iPad Air lineup last year, it could release the iPad Air 3 in March. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities reported in December 2015 that he expects the iPad Air 3 to be out in the first half of 2016 and is unlikely to support 3D Touch.
