Apple dominate holiday sales, accounting for 49% of all new device activation

According to analytics firm Flurry, Apple has once again dominated the holiday sales charts. 

Flurry tracks new devices activated over the Christmas week and their numbers reveal that Apple devices accounted for 49.1% of new device activation - slightly down from the 51.3% of last year.

Far behind in second place is Samsung with 19.8%. And further behind in third place is, surprise, Nokia with 2%. LG and Xiaomi are fourth and fifth with 1.7% and 1.5% respectively.

Deeper analysis reveal that the most popular devices were medium-sized phones, accounting for 54% of all new devices activated. Phablets surged forward in popularity with 27% - up from 13% of last year.
