Apple Completes Shutdown of OS X Downloads Site

Remember the Downloads page on Apple's website, where it shows software available for Mac OS X? In December, Apple stated that it'd "no longer offer apps on the Mac OS X Downloads site". This makes sense as Apple now has the Mac App Store. Well, Apple has kept its promise; as reported by MacNN, the directory of apps is now gone. The page now promotes the Mac App Store and with links to Apple's other software products such as Safari 5 and iTunes 10. The Dashboard Widgets section however, still works.
