Apple changes App Store buttons from "Free" to "Get"

Free to download apps now say "Get" instead of "Free".

Apple has made a slight revision to its App Store. They have changed the download button of apps that are free to download. Instead of "Free", these apps will now have a download button that says "Get".

This change has come about as a result of many of these free apps charging for in-app purchases. These "freemium" titles has been a source of controversy as many children have unknowingly downloaded such apps and then proceeded to incur massive charges due to these in-app purchases.

As a result, Apple decided to reword these buttons to more accurately reflect the nature of such apps.
