Analyst predicts Apple selling 2.5 million iPad Pro units in Q4 2015
The 12.9-inch iPad Pro hit retail shelves last week, but a renowned analyst expects Apple to sell truckloads of the tablet in two months!
According to KGI Securities Ming Chi-Kuo, Apple will sell between 2.4 to 2.5 million units of the iPad Pro in Q4 2015 with sales dropping to somewhere between 2.1 to 2.3 million units in Q1 2016. Kuo also shared that TSMC is the primary supplier of the A9X chipset for the iPad Pro unlike the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus where Apple also partnered with Samsung to produce the A9 processors. Samsung is reportedly helping to produce display panels for the iPad Pro as Sharp is suffering from production issues.
As for the supply shortages of the Apple Pencil, Kuo mentioned that production "isn't going smoothly" due to the complicated assembly process. He also believes the supply issues of the Apple Pencil will have a negative impact on the sales of the iPad Pro.
