AMD Updates Kaveri A-Series APU Lineup

AMD has updated its Kaveri A-Series APUs with three new additions. It is an attempt by the company to offer more HSA computing choices to end users after the introduction of their AMD Pro A-Series SoCs, which are more suited for corporate level users in early June this year.

AMD A-Series Accelerated Processing Units
Processor Model
Compute Cores (CPU + GPU) Clock Speed L2 Cache GPU Frequency (Max) Max TDP (W)
A10-7800 (with Radeon R7 Graphics) 12 (4 CPU + 8 GPU) 3.5GHz
(3.9 GHz Max Turbo Frequency)
4MB 720MHz 65/45
A6-7400K (with Radeon R5 Graphics) 6 (2 CPU + 4 GPU) 3.5GHz
(3.9 GHz Max Turbo Frequency)
1MB 756MHz 65/45
A4-7300 (with Radeon R3 Graphics) 3 (2 CPU + 1 GPU) N.A. 1MB N.A. 65/45

First, there is the new A10-7800 SoC. It boasts of a maximum clock speed of 3.9GHz, and it sports the same R7 graphics engine as the top-end A10-7850K APU. Next in line is the A6-7400K that also has a maximum clock speed of 3.9GHz; however, its graphics engine isn’t as powerful because its R5 graphics engine has four GPU cores, two less than the A10-7800. Last of all, the A4-7300 APU that is like the A6-7400K as they both sport only a pair of CPU cores, while the A4-7300’s R3 graphics engine has only one dedicated GPU core.

The A10-7800 APU is currently on sale in Japan now and it will be available worldwide by the end of the month. However, there isn't any information on the availability of the A6-7400K and A4-7300 APUs.
