AMD Showcases Eyefinity Gaming with Trinity APU

The local AMD office held an event for D-I-Y PC enthusiasts featuring systems powered by AMD Trinity APUs. We were given a sneak preview of the exhibits and one of the highlights of this event was an AMD Eyefinity gaming demonstration across three LCD displays for an immersive user experience!

The AMD Eyefinity gaming demonstration was conducted with a system that featured the top-end AMD A10-5800K APU.

The AMD Eyefinity gaming demonstration rig was powered by an A10-5800K APU with its AMD Radeon HD 7660D graphics core engine. During the demonstration, we were shown the game Torchlight II and its gameplay when the system's AMD Dual Graphics Technology was enabled. We witnessed frame rates of above 40fps when the said technology was enabled; as vote of confidence for the sheer strength of its on-board Radeon HD 7660D graphics core, the rig's Dual Graphics was turned off, leaving the AMD Eyefinity gaming demonstration entirely to the iGPU. The gameplay was still smooth and the reported frame rate was maintained above 20fps.

We asked the local AMD representatives about the local availability of the Trinity desktop APUs and they said that there is a current promotion with Sim Lim Square retailers like Cybermind and PC Themes. We managed to get our hand on Cybermind's price list (dated 17 November 2012) and they have bundled retail kit comprising an AMD A10-5800K APU paired with a Gigabyte GA-F2A85X-UP4 motherboard for a total price of S$359.
