AMD Dropping Monthly Support for Older Radeon Graphics Cards

AMD Dropping Monthly Support for Older Radeon Graphics Cards

AMD has confirmed that it is dropping monthly support for its older DirectX10 Radeon HD 2000, HD 3000 and HD 4000 graphics cards.

This will happen in May and the cards will be moved to legacy status, which means instead of monthly driver upgrades, it will receive updates on a quarterly basis instead. Also, AMD will no longer focus on optimizing the cards for performance as they believed that they have squeezed every ounce of performance available from these cards. Rather, AMD will focus on making sure the cards run smoothly on new and future games.
