In our review, we predicted that the GeForce GTX 560 Ti's attractive performance and price combination will force AMD to rethink its pricing strategy, and it turns out that we are right on the money, because AMD has just announced price cuts to some of their cards.
Fudzilla - Just in time for the launch of Nvidia's GTX 560 Ti card, AMD decided to cut the price of its HD 6870, HD 6950 1GB and Radeon HD 6970 cards. In addition to the price cut, AMD is working on a new driver that should launch tomorrow, January 26th.
AMD decided to cut the price of its Radeon HD 6950 1GB and 2GB models to US $259 and US $269-$289. In addition to these two, AMD has also cut the price of its Radeon HD 6870 card to US $219. In Europe these prices will range from €189.99 for the HD 6870, €225 for the Radeon HD 6950 1GB and €239.99 for the Radeon HD 6950 2GB card.
