Amazon's Kindle Library Lending service has gone online and is now available for use across the US. A grand total of 11,000 libraries will eventually be offering the service. While Amazon is not the first to offer ebook lending, both Sony and Barnes & Noble already offer similar services, there is no doubt that the market penetration of the Kindle makes up for the lateness on Amazon's part.
Bookworms and literature lovers can use the Library Lending Service by logging in to their respective library's website and simply sending the ebooks on to their Kindle for loan. The ebooks can be transferred to the device wirelessly or through a USB connection.
