Apple rolled out the iOS 9 update yesterday and it has already been installed on a significant number of devices.

According to Mixpanel's live tracking site, iOS 9 is currently installed on 18.84% of devices in just 48 hours. In the first 24 hours, iOS 9's adoption rate reached an approximately 12.6% which was reportedly in line with iOS 8 adoption rates last year.

When compared to rival Android platform, the latest Android Lollipop OS is only installed on 21% of devices nearly one year after its release. In other words, Apple will take about three days to hit the same statistics and this is yet another clear indicator of how fragmented the Android ecosystem is.

If you haven't downloaded the iOS 9 update on your iPhone or iPad, head over to Settings > General > Software Update. While the update is now smaller at 1.2GB, it is highly recommended that you update your iOS device over a Wi-Fi network. Once you've done so, read our article on the 9 things to try out on iOS 9.
