Adobe Comp CC makes your iPad a perfect companion for doing layouts on-the-go

Being able to work wherever we are seems to be something we take for granted in today’s world of smart devices and of course, the Cloud. Adobe first announced their intentions to bring more of the Creative Cloud experience to mobile devices, and the Comp CC app seems to be a perfect extension of that as it puts all the tools you need to start a project onto your iPad.

With Comp CC, you can quickly pull items from your Creative Cloud library to start working on a layout on the go. The app accesses stored images, Typekit fonts, color palettes, brushes and other assets to place straight into your layout. At any point, these layouts can be exported as an InDesign CC, Illustrator CC, or Photoshop CC file with live native objects so you can finish things off on your desktop without leaving Creative Cloud.

Drawing gestures, font libraries, and full layout options are accessible via Creative Cloud.

The single source file and rich history feature means that every iteration of your design is stored to the Cloud, so you take the file forward or backward in time with just a drag of a few fingers left or right on the screen. With new drawing gestures to take advantage of the iPad’s advanced touch screen, Adobe Comp CC certainly seems like a great new way to start work while you’re on the go. And when you're back in the office, you can pull up the same file from the Cloud to finish off the project with the full suite of Adobe CC programs on your desktop.

Adobe Comp CC is available now from the iTunes App store for free, but a free basic level of Creative Cloud membership is required (easiest done via the Creative Cloud app). The basic level gives you 2GB of storage, upgradable to 20GB for US$1.99 per month. (A recurring payment that’s automatically charged to your iTunes account)
