Adele's new "25" album won't be available on streaming services
Adele's new "25" album won't be available on streaming services
Adele's new album, titled "25", is possibly this holiday season's most eagerly anticipated new release. However, according to numerous reports today, the new album will be available for listening on streaming services such as Apple Music and Spotify.
According to The New York Times, three people with direct knowledge of the album's release plans, said that the major digital music services were informed that "25" will not be made available for streaming.
Other reports also said that Adele was personally involved with this decision.
Adele, along with Taylor Swift and Beyonce, are said to be one of the few artists remaining with another clout to pull off such a movie. An industry insider said, "Adele is an anomaly. If she decided to release her album on cassette tapes, it would still be the biggest album of the year."
The move highlights once again the controversial issues regarding payments of royalties and issues of control that music artists have with regards to music streaming services.
