Acronis True Image is Now Available for Mac
Acronis Launches Acronis True Image for Mac
Acronis first introduced scheduled automatic backup of full system images to the cloud with True Image 2014 for PCs last year, and has now extended the same benefits to Mac users with Acronis True Image for Mac. This new solution will offer its secure and new generation data protection to OS X users by bringing its personal backup and recovery technology to the Mac environment.
According to Acronis, this new solution is the "first to offer MacBook users complete protection" when the machine is away from the local backup, while providing dual protection to all Mac users. Dual protection means having a backup stored both locally and in the cloud, accessible anytime, anywhere. Acronis True Image is able to save a complete copy of the entire system including apps, user data and settings locally and online, ensuring that users are able to recover their Mac computers in case of a system issue, malfunction or hard drive failure.
True Image for Mac features:
- Full system image backup and recovery both to a local harddisk and to the Acronis cloud
- Option to recover complete Mac system image or specific files and folders
- Parallels Desktop support -- ability to backup and recover Parallels virtual machines in their active state
- Backup scheduling and option for automatic backup
- Personal Key Encryption for data privacy
- Option to create recovery media
- Versioning and incremental backups
- User interface specially tailored for Mac OS X
The backup software is designed to work with any Mac computer running OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) or 10.9 (Mavericks). It is also able to detect Time Capsule as an optional storage destination to optimize backups using both solutions.
Acronis True Image for Mac is available immediately at US$49.99, while a license for three Macs can be bought for US$79.99. Acronis Cloud subscriptions start at US$2.99/month for 50GB.
