G-Sync monitors are certainly not new to Acer. The brand's XB280HK monitor is a perennial favorite amongst gamers for its 4K resolution, support for G-Sync and its attractive price. Keen to build on its momentum in the gaming display space, Acer has just launched the world's first G-Sync monitor with an IPS display.

The XB270HU is a 27-inch gaming monitor that has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It also supports NVIDIA's G-Sync technology and sports an IPS display - a world's first. At Computex 2015 earlier this year, we saw ASUS also announce a new G-Sync monitor with an IPS panel - the PG279Q - but it seems now that Acer has beat them by being first to the market.

The Acer XB270HU will also support refresh rates as high as 144Hz and will have a grey-to-grey response time of 4ms. Only DisplayPort inputs will be supported and the monitor will also come with an integrated 4-port USB 3.0 hub.

The Acer XB270HU is available now and has a suggested retail price of $1099.
