Acer announces the Aspire M5-481TG Timeline Ultra, Aspire V5-471G, and Aspire S5.
Powered by an Ivy Bridge processor, this 14-inch Ultrabook is loaded with NVIDIA GeForce GT640M LE with 1GB of GDDR5 dedicated graphics and proprietary technologies including the Acer Green Instant On, which will resume operations in 1.5 seconds from the Sleep mode, or 6 seconds from Deep Sleep mode, and the Acer Instant Connect which provides access to the Internet in just 2.5 seconds.
With up to 8 hours of battery life, the Aspire M5-481TG measures 20mm thin and weighs as light as 2kg. Fused with 500GB HDD with embedded SSD, it comes with professionally-tuned Dolby Home Theater v4.
30% slimmer than notebooks in the same class, the 14-inch Aspire V5-471G with an in-built optical disc disc is less than 21mm thin and weighs only at 2.1kg. Packed with an Intel Core i3-2367M processor along with NVIDIA GT620M graphics with up to 1GB of dedicated DDR3 memory, it includes a 500GB hard disk and the Acer Instant Connect technology.
Equipped with a 13.3-inch Acer CineCrystal HD screen, the Aspire S5 weighs at a mere 1.2kg and is Acer's first Ultrabook to feature the MagicFlip I/O port panel. Concealed just below the hinge, I/O ports including a 10Gbps Thunderbolt port are revealed when you press the MagicFlip key. Also included are technologies like the Acer Green Instant On and Acer Always Connect, which allows users to go online faster than conventional connections. With their social media and Outlook email accounts open, users can see updates instantly upon resuming.
Armed with Ivy Bridge processors, the S5 employs the Acer Theft Shield, which will sound an alarm when activated, as soon as it detects a drop in wireless signal or when the notebook is shifted from its original location. With a SSD drive of up to 256GB with RAID 0, it also boasts Dolby Home Theater v4 speakers.
The Aspire M5-481TG Timeline Ultra, Aspire V5-471G, and Aspire S5 will be available starting from June 2012.
