Apple's new iPods come out once every year, at a special event during September. And every year around this time, rumors ramp up about just what Apple's up to. This year's no different, with rumors about smaller iPads, iPods and even a new iPhone. Ars Technica has a breakdown on why those rumors just don't add up.
Sources also claim that Apple has a smaller, 7" iPad waiting in the wings, slated for release later this year or early next year. Like a shrinking iPod touch screen, the iOS interface could be hampered by a reduction in physical size. And again, it would mean yet another target for developers to account for in their app designs.
In other words, new iPods a yes, new iPads & iPhones a don't think so.
