3D Sound Labs debuts Neoh, the world’s first smart 3D audio headphones

If you’ve ever wanted a true surround sound experience on the go, the Neoh headphones from 3D Sound Labs may just be what you’re looking for.

It took two years of intensive research and development, but the 3D Sound Labs team has developed an audio/video player that is able to deliver a high-quality stream of spatially reconstructed audio without taxing the CPU, thus being suitable for mobile devices.

This allows their new Neoh headphones to support cinematic codecs like Mpeg H 3D audio and Dolby Atmos, and means the headphones will be able to render sound with a spatial sense, thus allowing for more accurate, natural and immersive sound reproduction.

The Neoh headphones take advantage of the fact that we locate sounds based on the time differential between its perception via each of our ears. By developing algorithms that have the ability to reproduce these spatial perception mechanisms, and by taking the way that sounds are shaped by acoustic filters known as Head Related Transfer Functions (HRTF) into account, the engineers at 3D Sound Labs have come up with a way to use head tracking sensors in the Neoh to recreate true 3-dimensional sound in your head.

Get the theatrical experience of being able to pinpoint every sound source on the go from these revolutionary headphones.

Neoh’s kickstarter launches January 2015. Neoh will be available for preorder on 3DSoundLabs.com for delivery in spring 2015.
