32GB Google Nexus 7 Coming Soon?
Google and ASUS might be preparing to launch a 32GB version of the Nexus 7 as several online sites show such a device in their inventories.
A leaked screenshot of Carphone Warehouse's inventory reveals an entry titled, "Nexus ASUS 7in tablet 32GB WiFi Tegra 3". It is noteworthy to mention that the black Samsung Galaxy S III was discovered in a similar fashion two months ago.
Droid-Life published a leaked screenshot from an unknown purchase site which shows a 32GB version of the Nexus 7 with a price tag of $259.92. As the listed price for the 8GB variant differs from the Google Play Store (US$199), it is likely that the pricing is not accurate.
According to Droid-Life, its reader called up one of the resellers and was informed that shipments of the 32GB Nexus 7 would arrive around 24th October. He was also told that it is a "special model". Could the "special model" be referring to the rumored 3G variant?
ASUS launched the Google Nexus 7 (16GB) Wi-Fi in Singapore last Saturday at a retail price of S$399. If a 32GB version is indeed coming, it is likely to command a price tag close to S$500.
A 3G model would definitely cost much more too. At these price points, the Nexus 7 may be less of an attractive deal especially when Apple is said to be unveiling its iPad Mini later this month.
