While Apple is rumored to introduce a smaller iPad to wipe out the Android competition, Research in Motion (RIM) appears to be planning an opposite strategy by making a 10.1-inch version of the BlackBerry PlayBook. Images of the 10-inch BlackBerry PlayBook were posted by a user on Vietnamese forum, Tinhte alongside the 7-inch variant

According to Engadget, a brief teardown image reveals that the 10-inch tablet houses a 7,250mAh battery and a SIM card holder. A "BlackBerry 4G PlayBook" branding can be seen at the bottom of the device in one shot.

A recent leaked roadmap shows two tablet devices in the pipeline, with a 4G PlayBook codenamed Winchester 2 slated for a release in Q4 2012 and a 10-inch BlackBerry "Blackforest" PlayBook/Tablet in Q3 2013. We wonder if these tablet devices will ever make their ways into the consumers' hands since RIM is working on a tight schedule to deliver the first BlackBerry 10 devices.
