Luckily, the speed boast we observed was not just for synthetic benchmarks. The XFX was in fine form in Chronicles of Riddick, where it had a 20% lead over the next fastest GeForce 7950 GX2. NVIDIA's flagship GeForce 7900 GTX threatened to spoil the party in Quake 4 but its initial advantage was eroded and conceded by the time we got to 1600 x 1200. The more extreme settings of 8x antialiasing only confirmed XFX's pole position. With two GPUs working in conjunction, it's hard to find any challenger for the overclocked XFX, unless the game happens to be one of the rare ones that do not support SLI technology or if it meets a pair of GeForce 7900 GTX cards in SLI (which has no problems superceding the XFX).
