M2N32-SLI Deluxe - ASUS' AM2 Warrior

In the past few weeks, we've previewed three best of class AMD Socket AM2 motherboards from Gigabyte and MSI based on the yet to be launched NVIDIA nForce 500 series chipsets. Today, we have another goodie for you, our dear readers and that is in the form of ASUS' M2N32-SLI Deluxe. This motherboard is based on the top end nForce 590 SLI chipset, which is the dual PCIe x16 version and while we're still required to keep mum about the final specifications of these chipsets (and they're very exciting indeed), you can see that many manufacturers have already a full range of motherboards ready for launch. When we contacted ASUS, we've been told that not only is the M2N32-SLI Deluxe the final retail board, we can expect to see them in the shops real soon. However, it is estimated that the ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe will set you back a fair bit by a US$250 (S$420) SRP at launch.

Since we've already covered what we know of the nForce 500 series in our past two previews, we'll get right into the pictures of ASUS' offering.

The ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe is the upcoming Socket AM2 motherboard from ASUS. The most striking features is the elaborate chipset cooling and the need to switch the CPU socket and DIMM slots around to accommodate it.

The M2N32-SLI Deluxe has an updated heat-pipe thermal solution from ASUS which we first saw on the A8N32-SLI Deluxe. Instead of a three piece solution, the M2N32-SLI Deluxe sports a four piece ensemble with two radiators. Notice that the radiators are curved so as to provide clearance for graphics cards that have backplates or rear heatsinks.

The two large radiators for the heat-pipes now double up as coolers for the motherboard MOSFETs and capacitors.

Once the heat-pipe is removed, you can see that the M2N32-SLI Deluxe also packs an 8-phase power design.

Both chipsets have their own dedicated heat-pipe complete with shiny new decals.

Compared to the both the Gigabyte GA-M59SLI-S5, GA-M57SLI-S4 and MSI's K9N SLI Platinum, the ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe has the least expansion capabilities, though it makes up for it with more features that you can shake a stick at.
