Without anti-aliasing, the MSI Radeon HD 3650 was just ahead of the GeForce 8600 GT. Both the GeForce 8600 GTS and the Radeon HD 2600 XT were slightly faster than the MSI. The lower clocks on the Radeon HD 3650 series was probably why this newer card was slower than the Radeon HD 2600 XT it is supposed to supersede since both have very similar specifications. Things got more interesting when anti-aliasing was enabled. The MSI started out with similar scores to the other mainstream cards (excepting the GeForce 8600 GTS) but when we got to 1920 x 1440, the MSI was ahead of all but the Radeon HD 3850. This seemed to be the moment where the 512MB of memory on the MSI may finally have a say in its performance. But we are not very convinced yet.
