Temperature Testing

It is understandable that the new GeForce 8 cards would have higher temperatures than some of NVIDIA's existing cards, due to the great leap in transistor count. We were therefore rather surprised that it wasn't so. While the GeForce 8800 GTX was obviously warmer than the MSI, the difference was quite close and the temperatures hovered between 50 to 60 degrees Celsius range, not too far off from the warmer cards like the GeForce 7950 GX2 and the Radeon X1950 XTX. NVIDIA's large and quiet cooler is definitely doing an excellent job here.
