The standard specifications for the GeForce 6600 GT (PCIe) is a graphics processor speed of 500MHz and a memory clock speed of 1000MHz DDR. The Extreme edition of the Leadtek WinFast PX6600 GT TDH comes clocked at 550/1120MHz, which by any measures is a rather significant speed boost. Not many similar cards that we know of have such high operating frequencies out of the box.
However, if not for the sticker with the word Extreme plastered on the green PCB (typical of Leadtek), we would not have noticed that this is no ordinary GeForce 6600 GT. The Leadtek WinFast PX6600 GT Extreme looks similar to the normal edition, with the same exposed, circular aluminum cooler. There is no cooling for the memory chips, though the 128MB worth of Samsung 1.6ns rated chips did not seem to mind, producing excellent overclocking performance in our tests.
There are no other major surprises besides the overclocked speeds. The usual connectors found in a GeForce 6600 GT are reproduced in the Leadtek card. The items that we found in the Leadtek package are rather typical for a GeForce 6600 GT card and covered all the bases with the essential cables and software. The games bundle is decent and while they may not be exactly the newest, they are at least recent enough to tax the capabilities of the card adequately.
