Next we used PCMark Vantage to find out how these drives fared in real-world scenarios by focusing on the hard drive test suite. These tests range from gaming performance, to loading applications and media creation performance - all in all, testing a mix of read/write performance whose blend varies in each of the test scenarios.

Considering all the tests, the overall score of the Kingston SSDNow V+ is looking good. Many of the tests are heavy on the read performance and the Kingston drive really shows its strengths, but not better than the second generation Intel X25-M drives. Tests that tax the write capabilities more saw the Indilinix controller based OCZ and Patriot drives fare much better. This is a trend that you'll see more in the following pages too.
