HTC Touch Diamond - A Sparkling Preview

A Deeper Flo

A Deeper Flo

Putting aside any potential comparisons to a certain Cupertino-based phone, the Diamond presents a 3D linear and smooth interface that masks its existing Windows Mobile 6.1 interface until you go much deeper into its functionalities such as documentation viewing and editing and contact list selection. Believe us when we say it's a blessing in disguise (from Windows Mobile 6.1). As we swiped through its TouchFlo 3D, we found the interface to be a hell of a lot more intuitive than the default Windows Mobile 6.1 interface, giving you quick and easy access to your multimedia files, messages and many other basic and advance functions.

Though a few months late into the game, HTC joins the big boys and incorporates an accelerometer within the Diamond's list of features. Effectively speaking, this opens up a whole new avenue of options for developers to take advantage of the motion sensing technology on top of its basic intention for image orientation switching.

With the 3D naming convention in place, it's not surprising to see a little flipping done on the album cover arts.

Focusing much more on its touch enhancements, the Diamond departs from the conventional five-way navigation pad and is all about the touch with its touch-sensitive navigation panel.
