White seems to be the hit color of the season and the Gigabyte Booktop M1022 follows this trend. It's not going to wow anyone with it looks, but it looks classy enough and is definitely not too shabby. In terms of feel and built quality, expect the usual high standards from Gigabyte.

Once docked, the docking station also charges the Booktop and provides it with an additional two USB ports and a VGA output. Just plug in our your USB based input devices and hook it up to a large screen LCD and you're set to work comfortably at your work or home. The dock also has a line-out jack to cater to your desktop speakers or audiophile headphones for quality audio. Furthemore, the connections provided on the dock are a thoughtful touch considering that the in-built ports on the Booktop will be facing skywards once it is docked.

Elsewhere, the Gigabyte Booktop M1022 has a keyboard that is scaled down to 92% of full size desktop keyboard. This is not the largest in its class, but its layout is sensible, with all they keys where you'd expect them to be. The trackpad works well enough, but it adopts a similar design to the HP Mini-Note with the buttons at its sides, which will take some getting use to. To top off, Gigabyte has also provided a 1.3 megapixel webcam.

The front profile of the Gigabyte 1022M Booktop is uncluttered, headphones and microphone jacks as well as an in-built mic can be found at the left, whereas to the right lies all manners of indicator lights.

On the right, you'll find nothing more than a VGA-out and another port which allows you to dock the Gigabyte 1022M Booktop onto its special docking system.

The ports are all found on the left side. From left to right: 4-in-1 card reader, ExpressCard slot, three USB 2.0 ports, RJ45 port and DC-in.

The keyboard is scaled down to 92%, which is decent. The layout is also logical, with no surprises - the keys are where you'd expect them to be. The multi-touch trackpad is tiny, but accurate enough.

Web chat lovers will be happy to know that the Gigabyte 1022M Booktop comes with a 1.3 megapixel webcam.

At the back of the dock are three more USB 2.0 ports, a RJ-45 port, line-out, VGA-out and DC-in. If you are wondering, yes, you can use these three USB ports along with the ones already on the Gigabyte 1022M Booktop in unison.
