Quake 4 once again showed the advantage going to the Gigabyte over the reference GeForce 7600 GS. The margin was around five frames and most obvious at the lower resolutions. The GeForce 7300 GT was very competitive as usual and the overclocked ASUS GeForce 7600 GS (and its rather useless 512MB of memory) couldn't keep up either. With such a strong candidate emerging in its mid-range segment, the fate of the GeForce 7600 GS seems destined to be relegated to niche users and Gigabyte's version does hint at this.
