A Printer Masquerading as a Photo Frame

Digital photo frames and compact photo printers are aplenty these days from the usual suspects in the industry. A couple of years back in CeBIT 2007 , we've already seen advanced functionality of digital photo frames with wireless connectivity, messenger features, contact functions and more.

Though it hasn't really taken off, that form of advancement is still being peddled by a select few vendors. In recent times however, we began seeing another form of convergence where the photo frame meet the photo printer.

One of those taking this concept head-on is Epson's new PictureMate PM310. Combining a large 7-inch digital photo frame and a compact inkjet-based photo printer, it sounds and looks like an interesting combination. In fact, it is also one of the rare few printers of this size that is based on inkjet printing technology using Epson's own piezoelectric print head. Find out how it fares and more on the following page.
