Test Setup
With a few past reviews under our wing, we were able to put up a more comprehensive set of benchmark numbers using both the ULi M1695-based ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 and the M1697-based EPoX EP-9U1697 GLI to gauge the performance of the ASRock 939SLI32-eSATA2. As usual, we will also use the Chaintech VNF4 Ultra as a reference point for mainstream nForce4 Ultra performance. The test bed setup for all four motherboards are listed below:-
- ASRock 939SLI32-eSATA2, ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 and EPoX EP-9U1697 GLI
- AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (2.2GHz 512KB L2 cache)
- 2 x 512MB Kingston DDR400 @ 6-3-3 CAS 2.5 CMD 1T
- Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 80GB SATA hard disk drive (one single NTFS partition)
- Leadtek PX6600GT TDH Extreme 128MB - with NVIDIA Detonator XP 71.89 driver
- ULi Integated Drivers 2.13
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 1 (with DirectX 9.0c)
- Chaintech VNF4 Ultra
- AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (2.2GHz 512KB L2 cache)
- 2 x 512MB Kingston DDR400 @ 6-3-3 CAS 2.5 CMD 1T
- Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 80GB SATA hard disk drive (one single NTFS partition)
- Leadtek PX6600GT TDH Extreme 128MB - with NVIDIA Detonator XP 71.89 driver
- NVIDIA nForce4 package 6.53
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 1 (with DirectX 9.0c)
Additional Notes
- The ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 requires a compatible memory timing of CMD 2T to complete SYSmark 2004.
