Apple MacBook Pro: 17-inches of Pure Lust

An Apple a Day

Conclusion

We really liked the 17-inch MacBook Pro, it's a great machine that delivers the goods in terms of performance and design. Despite its size as a 17-inch desktop replacement, Apple has managed to keep a svelte and slim figure that's barely any thicker than the 15-inch model. Of course, there are some drawbacks from the design, and we're sure the non-removable battery is probably on top of your mind.

Fret not, however, as our tests have shown, the MacBook Pro's battery packs a hefty punch in battery stamina. Unlike most other desktop replacement notebooks that are barely able to hit the two-hour mark, the MacBook Pro simply blew its competition away with over 4 hours of battery up-time. There's likely no comparison right now that can match the 17-inch MacBook Pro in this capability. Combine its slim frame and the MacBook Pro is a real champ on portability.

Performance-wise, the MacBook Pro is definitely worth it's Pro moniker against the other MacBooks. In Boot Camp, the notebook did well though not as well as we would have liked in the hard drive scores. It did more than make up for it in the gaming section where its better CPU helped it somewhat to achieve very respectable gaming results against the other machines of similar hardware. So if you're wondering if you can play Windows games on this MacBook Pro you certainly can enjoy it (in Windows Vista via Boot Camp of course).

Is this worth the S$4388 that you'll be spending if you decide to get this? We think so, even in bad economic times like these.

Retailing at a cool S$4388, the 17-inch MacBook Pro is indeed pricey and may not be the wisest purchase price-wise. However it is simply one of the coolest notebooks around and it delivers on almost all accounts - gorgeous design, great physique, sex appeal, worthy performance and great battery stamina. Now don't forget that all this is from Apple and that should speak for itself.
