Xiaomi's first smartphone for 2015 is the Redmi 2, which it teased a few days ago.

As rumored, the Redmi 2 comes with two SIM card slots that support 4G LTE connectivity and dual-standby. Xiaomi states that the Redmi 2 supports TDD and FDD, which means that consumers in Singapore are likely to only enjoy 4G connectivity on one SIM card slot as LTE TDD is not used locally. Other specs include:

  • 4.7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels
  • 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core 1.2GHz processor
  • MIUI 6
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB internal storage with microSD expansion up to 32GB
  • 2,200mAh battery
  • 8-megapixel rear camera
  • 2-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 133g
  • 9.4mm thin
  • 5 colors for back cover

The design of the Redmi 2 looks like a smaller variant of the Redmi Note. <br> Image source: MIUI forum
