Windows 10 to launch in end July?

Windows 10 will come with a new default browser, currently still known by its 'Project Spartan' codename.

So far, Microsoft has only said that its next operating system, Windows 10, would be generally available this “summer” in 190 countries. However, at a recent conference call, AMD’s CEO Lisa Su has let slip that the OS would launch at the end of July.

Lisa Su, when talking about inventory:

…with the Windows 10 launch at the end of July, we are watching the impact of that on the back-to-school season, and expect that it might have a bit of a delay to the normal back-to-school season inventory buildup.

Of course, this might just be Su’s own educated guess; but considering she is AMD’s CEO, we’re inclined to think that she is one of few who are in the know of Microsoft’s plans.

As we’ve reported earlier, the first year after Windows 10 is available, the OS will be a free upgrade for all devices running Windows 8.1, Windows Phone 8.1, and even Windows 7.
