WebOS Still Stuck in Limbo

There was a time when webOS was a genuine contender in the mobile sector, but unfortunately all that has been put on hold indefinitely. HP bought Palm, and along with it, webOS, that once had the potential to challenge Apple's iOS.

Unfortunately, due to a myriad of reasons, webOS didn't succeed in mounting a noticeable challenge, and instead had been over taken by the now dominant Android OS.

And now, to further compound its problems, is the fact that HP, who tried briefly and unsuccessfully to launch webOS devices, is now undecided when it comes to webOS's fate, according to AllThingsD.

That means that webOS will be further neglected, and fall further behind in terms of development -- not very appealing for a potential buyer.

But of course, it probably isn't easy to make the right decision without taking the time to mull over every single aspect.

“It’s really important to me to make the right decision, not the fast decision,” Whitman said, according to The Verge. “If HP decides to do this (keep webOS), we’re going to do it in a very significant way, over a multiyear period.”
