Transition Systems Pilots Web Security Audit As A Service
Singapore, 23 April 2010 - Transition Systems (Transition), today announced the launch of its first Sofware as a Service (SaaS) – Web Site Security Audit (WSSA), which is available through the company’s website.
The new service is powered by OEM vulnerability detection technology from Beyond Security - a leading developer of automated security testing tools. Subscribers will have to access the Web Site Security Audit service from Transition’s website: www.transition-asia.com. The service is hosted and maintained by Transition Systems. It uses an extensive library of known security issues to comprehensively scan and detect vulnerabilities.
This is a powerful tool that identifies website security risks by looking for weaknesses in website code, errors in web server settings and detecting the indicators of viruses, Trojans or worms. Software driven and automated, fast and detailed reports are produced after the scan. The reports include recommended solutions to fix the weaknesses and secure the website against the growing number of threats that are increasingly coming from legitimate and authorized sources.
Explaining the service, Jonathan Juay, Group Managing Director, Transition Systems Group said, “This is the first service offering that we are bringing to customers. We see this as a strategic business initiative by the Transition Group in collaboration with our value-added resellers who will bring our array of enterprise security solutions to the market. Web Site Security Audit as a service complements the lineup of solutions provided by our leading security vendors in the region.”
According to Steve Hopwood, Beyond Security’s VP for APAC, “We are happy to bring our leading vulnerability scanning technology to Transition Systems as their pilot service offering to the market in the region. The vulnerability database is supplied by our SecuriTeam Portal – well-known in the industry as a security ‘clearinghouse’ of early risk alerts. We are constantly updating this test database with newly discovered attacks”.
Transition’s Web Site Security Audit which will go live on 1 May 2010, requires no hardware or software installation. As a special launch promotion, Transition will offer the service free of charge till 30 June 2010.
