Toshiba is targeting the entry-level Android tablet market with its latest 7-inch tablet, the Excite 7.

With a retail price of US$170, the Excite 7 looks set to give the Google Nexus 7 (2013) and ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 a run for their money. It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and is powered by a Rockchip® RK3188 quad-core 1.6GHz processor and 1GB RAM.

Its 7-inch display has a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels, which is lower than that of the Nexus 7 (2013) and MeMO Pad HD 7. While it comes with 8GB internal storage, the Excite 7 has a micro-SD card slot. Other specs include:

  • 3-megapixel rear camera
  • 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 14Wh non-removable battery (Up to 13 hours of usage)
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • 192.12 x 116.84 x 10.92mm
  • 349.26g

The Toshiba Excite 7 tablet is available for purchase through Amazon, Toshiba.com/us and other e-tailers. We are checking with Toshiba Singapore on its local availability and will update this section when we have more information.
